The curious nature of the moon and my blog: an explanation, a question, and some gratitude.

THE MOON:  I love that the moon has so many phases — and that when you look up at it, depending on the sky and the light, you’ll see something new.  There is magic in it — in the nooks and crannies, the craters and lakes.

So last night, I grabbed that new Panasonic point-n-shoot and tried to capture it.  Digital cameras are better than some telescopes at this point, and it didn’t take me long to get this shot.  But it got me thinking . . .

AN EXPLANATION:  About my blog.  I know that I am all over the place with my writing — one day I’m focusing on travels and photographs — the next I’m writing about family and politics.  I dabble in education as well, because that’s my chosen career . . . but I think about everything and lay it out there like some ornate buffet.  A little of this, a little of that. A little too much? God bless the person who tries to follow me because one idea, one post struck their fancy. There’s a recipe, I fear, for disappointment. I’ve often wondered if I should make my blog stick to one general subject, like so many people do but it’s impossible. The world is so full of all the things, I simply cannot focus on just one.

A QUESTION:  And that brought my thoughts to you, a reader — and one of the folks who follow me.  I’m wondering why you decided to hit the “follow” button?  I’m so grateful you’re here, but I’m also aware that I should be writing for an audience.  I’m curious:  Who are you? What makes you read on? What have you liked and why?

SUCH GRATITUDE:  Whatever the reason — and I’m anxious to find out what it is — I am so grateful that you’re here.  This space has become my sacred time — and I’m filled with gratitude that some of you are willing to be here with me.

  1. I like when people write a little of this, a little of that….because that’s who we are. The best writing comes when you write from the heart about what’s on your mind. When I started blogging I thought it would be about aging…..but it’s turned into so much more for me. But conversely….I admire the people that take a theme/challenge and complete it. That’s my favorite thing about reading blogs…..seeing how everyone represents themselves uniquely!
