I mentioned last week that I just started drawing, kind of out of the blue, almost two weeks ago. Many times, it seems, I work hard to fail.

And then sometimes, a piece looks really terrible for a while until something kind of miraculous happens and it begins to look like the thing I’m actually trying to draw. That’s what happened with this elephant — and since elephants are supposed to bring good luck (aren’t they? Maybe I made that part up), I decided to share it with you.

I hope that after today’s disastrous coronavirus numbers, we will start turning the corner. If you’re in NYC, especially, please be embarrassingly careful. Whenever you are, stay home. Just do it.
